HOME
I really want to go home.
So I can feel like a gnome.
No one will talk to me as I go roam,
In my small dome,
While reading a tome.
Then as I lay on some foam,
I Pretend to be in a mellow brome.

Best Friend Poem
Best Friend
When I saw you from a far
Staring right into my eyes,
I knew that we were meant to be.
As my two thumbs press down on you,
You fix the words I misspell.
Whenever I reach for you,
You don’t run away.
If I need anything,
you will always provide me with it.
You give me everything I need,
in just the palms of my hands.
When I saw you from a far
Staring right into my eyes,
I knew that we were meant to be.
As my two thumbs press down on you,
You fix the words I misspell.
Whenever I reach for you,
You don’t run away.
If I need anything,
you will always provide me with it.
You give me everything I need,
in just the palms of my hands.

Poem Reflection
1. Why did you write poems you wrote? The reason I wrote my poems is because I like to write about what i am passionate about and what my hobbies are. When writing my poems, it was easy because I really like to find what I love and express it into my poems.
2. Where did you get your ideas for your poems? The ideas for my poems are from the things around me that I noticed. I put those ideas into my poems. When I helped Jay revise his poems I took some of the advice that I gave him and used them in poem. When I took the time to read other poet's poetry in the books it gave me inspiration to write a poems as good as theirs.
3. How'd you make your poems good? After editing my poems I would find better words and that would make the poem flow better. I would also take my poems up to Miss. Pyeatt and we would go over the poem. Putting down on paper what ever would come to my mind and take the similar ones and try to make a out line for a poem.
4. How did you learn about poetry? Learning poetry is a process that I started in 6th grade. I really learned about different types of poetry and the different literary words for poetry. Each year we always had a time that we focused on poetry through out my middle school years. Im still a novice but I'm getting better.

Game Time Poem
Gathering my clothes
As we get off the bus.
Our team walks slowly
Toward the locker room,
Trying to keep our cool.
Walking toward the benches
A whisper of the wind
Rolled across the field,
Drawing both teams
To their positions.
After the slight sound,
Of the ball moving
everyone knew,
As we get off the bus.
Our team walks slowly
Toward the locker room,
Trying to keep our cool.
Walking toward the benches
A whisper of the wind
Rolled across the field,
Drawing both teams
To their positions.
After the slight sound,
Of the ball moving
everyone knew,
It was game time.

Jerry Garcia
Jerry Garcia is a guitar player, singer, and song writer. he was best known because he was a founding member of the Grateful Dead, the rock band for which he served as de facto leader for 30 years, 1965-1995. Concurrently for much of that time, he also led his own Jerry Garcia Band (JGB), and he performed and recorded in a variety of configurations and a variety of styles, particularly styles of folk and country music, sometimes switching to banjo or pedal steel guitar for the purpose. But the Grateful Dead remained his primary musical outlet, and he performed thousands of concerts with them and appeared on dozens of their albums (many of them live recordings), 28 of which reached the Billboard chart during his lifetime, including the million-sellers Workingman's Dead, American Beauty, Europe '72, Skeletons from the Closet: The Best of Grateful Dead, What a Long Strange Trip It's Been: The Best of the Grateful Dead, and In the Dark, and another eight that went gold. Jerry Garcia was viewed as an icon and spokesman for the hippie movement of the 1960s, the counterculture fueled by psychedelic drugs and rock & roll that the Grateful Dead embodied for their fervent fans, the Deadheads, as well as to the public at large.
